Kivi, paber, käärid
EKL Muhu Kunstitalu igasuvine kunstifestival toimub 2023. aastal (1.06.-29.08.2023) nädala pikkuste individuaalsete resideerumisperioodide vormis. Festivali tegevustest teeb kokkuvõtte valmiv tummfilm ja augusti viimastel nädalatel avanev ülevaatenäitus Kunstitalu ruumides ja õuealal.
2023. aasta väljakutseks osalejatele on ümbruskonnas leiduvate ressursside ja käepäraste vahendite rakendamine.
Kivi – paber – käärid on vana Hiinast pärinev ajaviide. Kõige levinumate reeglite järgi loevad mängijad kolmeni ning teevad samaaegselt käega ühe kolmest märgist, mis tähistab kivi, kääre või paberit. Eri märkide puhul võidab kivi käärid, käärid võidavad paberi, paber võidab kivi. Festivali idee lähtub aga eelkõige mängu lakoonilisest iseloomust ning pealkirjas manifesteeritud materjalide valikust.
Kujutage ette, et teil ei ole midagi peale kivide, paberi või kääride, kuid teil on tegevusplaan, ideed, visioonid, soovid ja vajadused. Te tahate end väljendada ja teha midagi uut, huvitavat, edasi viivat. Teil on vaja teha tööd.
Kujutage ette, et te olete sportlane, kunstnik, kirjanik või arhitekt ja teie ainsad töövahendid on kivi, paber ja käärid.
Festivalil osalemine tähendab osalemist mängus, kus võidutöö valib näitust külastav publik. Võidutöö autor võidab mängu ja pälvib publikupreemia.
Kunstitalul on osalejatele kasutamiseks pakkuda suur kollektsioon ajalehti Sirp ja vanametalli. Lähiümbrusest leiab kive, savimuldasid; taaskasutuskeskusest saab tasuta raamatuid ja muud huvitavat; Maasi kogumisjaamast kohalikku vanametalli, mida on võimalik kokkuleppetasu põhiselt töödelda Nõmmküla metallitöökojas.
Futu Muhu 2023 osalemistingimused:

Nädalane tasuta majutus Kunstitalu suvetoas, ühel pakutud külastuse perioodidest;

Sportlasest residentidele pakume võimalust soodsatel tingimustel rentida majutust spordirühmale;

Sportlasest residendilt eeldame kohalike huviliste kaasamist sporditegevustesse;
-
Teoste valmistamiseks või muudeks vajalikeks instrumentideks võib kasutada ainult kohalikke, koriluse või annetuse teel omandatud leidmaterjale.
Teoste eksponeerimiskoha valib autor (Kunstitalu esindajaga kooskõlastades), teos jääb eksponeerimise kohta vähemalt hooaja lõpuni, osaledes augustis ühisnäitusel ja plaanitud publikumängus; -
Autorid annavad korraldajale õiguse pildistada tegevusi ja teoseid ning õiguse fotosid publitseerida EKL Muhu Kunstitalu veebilehtedel ja/või trükistes.

Rock, Paper, Scissors
The annual summer art festival of EAA Muhu Art Residency will take place in 2023 (1.06.-29.08.2023) in the form of week-long individual residency periods. The activities of the festival will be summarized by a silent film and an overview exhibition opening in the last weeks of August in the premises and outdoor area of the residency.
The challenge for the participants in 2023 is to use the resources and tools found in the surrounding area.
Rock-paper-scissors is an old pastime from China. According to the most common rules, players count to three and simultaneously make one of three signs with their hand, representing rock, scissors or paper. For different signs, rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, paper beats rock. However, the idea of the festival is primarily based on the laconic character of the game and the choice of materials manifested in the title.
Imagine that you have nothing but rocks, paper or scissors, but you have a plan of action, ideas, visions, wants and needs. You want to express yourself and do something new and interesting and forward-thinking. You have work to do.
Imagine you are an athlete, artist, writer or architect and your only tools are rock, paper and scissors.
Participating in the festival means participating in a game where the audience visiting the exhibition chooses the winning work. The author of the winning work wins the game and receives an audience prize.
Art Residency has a large collection of “Sirp” (weekly culture) newspapers for participants to use. Stones and clay soils can be found in the immediate surroundings; you can get free books and other interesting things from the recycling center; Local scrap metal from the Maasi collection station, which can be processed at the Nõmmküla metal workshop based on an agreed fee.
Futu Muhu 2023 participation conditions:

One-week free accommodation in the summer room of the Art Residency, during one of the proposed visit periods;

We offer athlete residents the opportunity to rent accommodation for a sports group on favorable terms;

We expect the athlete resident to involve local interested parties in sports activities;

Only local, collected or donated found materials may be used to make works or other necessary instruments.

The place of exhibition of the works is chosen by the author (in coordination with the representative of the Art Residency), the work remains on display at least until the end of the season, participating in a joint exhibition and a planned audience game in August;

The authors grant the organizer the right to film and photograph activities and artworks and the right to publish the film and photographs on the EAA Muhu Art Residency web pages and/or in print.
